WILCO Co., Ltd. (hereafter “WILCO”), a next-generation materials startup specializing in low-dielectric copper clad laminates (CCLs) for satellite communication and aerospace applications, announced on April 3 that it has been selected for the “Deep Tech Startup 1000+” initiative led by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups of Korea.

The program, operated by the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development (KISED), is supported by the Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI) for the aerospace sector. WILCO was selected as one of only five companies nationwide within 10 years of founding. As a result, WILCO is eligible to receive up to KRW 600 million (approx. $440,000) in commercialization funding over three years, as well as global investment and business support.

WILCO has successfully localized CCL materials that were previously reliant on imports, and is now supplying high-performance CCLs with lower dielectric loss and enhanced thermal properties to the domestic and global markets. These advanced materials are recognized as critical components for boosting the performance of satellite communication systems and aerospace electronics.

CEO Sangwon Park stated, “We are meeting the needs of domestic customers in the satellite and aerospace sectors with a wide range of CCL specifications and thicknesses, all produced locally at competitive pricing,” adding, “Being selected for the ‘Deep Tech Startup 1000+’ initiative is a major step forward as we accelerate our market entry and scale our technology.”
